Content Farmer Review, by David

Note: In May 2007, the two guys from SEO Blog Builder split up. The product is now called Content Farmer, and is still being maintained by Jeremy Miller, the original developer. Better product, new name!

My first impression of Content Farmer, formerly SEOBlogBuilder , released in March 2006, was that it was a clone of RSS to Blog, with a few added features. Wrong! It starts where RSS2B leaves off, giving you more blog-posting power than ever before.

At a basic level, this is a blog posting and pinging tool. It allows you the ability to set up posting “projects,” and these projects can include multiple blogs. Right from the start, we can see how to leverage the setup power of this tool. Imagine taking less than a half hour to set up your posting for 50 newly created blogs!

The real power in this tool comes from the content you can post. SEOBlogBuilder uses keyword tokens that will post site links. In fact, you can use “blocks” of keywords to have certain keywords link to one site, and other (related or non-related) keywords post to a different site. These keyword lists and tokens are passed to SEOBlogBuilder from a text file.

The meat of SEO Blog Builder is a section called “data files.” Here is where you post articles or snippets, complete with embedded tokens. The categories available in the ”data files” section are articles, text, csv (for things like datafeeds from affiliate vendors), keyword csv, and saved posts. You can also combine data types in this section. Think about random keyword-optimized paragraphs with deep links to your site pages. You can invent your own tokens, with replacement text, and feed random sentences or swap synonyms for truly unique content. What I recommend is to create a text file with dozens or hundreds of 2-3 sentence snippets in it. Make tokens for several synonym replacements. For example, replace “deal” with “bargain”,”discount”,”great buy,” etc. Then of course, add the proper density of keyword tokens. Have the post include a random number of these paragraphs. You can literally create thousands of pages that are unique, keyword focused, and are completely readable. You can insert code for links to sites, sales pages, or affiliate products in here also.

SEO Blog Builder also has a section for adding RSS feeds. I won’t say much about this because it appears to be pretty standard. You enter your RSS feed sources and fixed or random number of results. You can also choose for the URL to appear on the top or bottom of the post. You can also assign a redirect URL, and add any attributes to it, such as rel=”nofollow”. If the feed accepts a keyword, you can insert any token in that field.

The search engine scrape section appears to scrape directly from SBB, but I’m not sure. It works like any other scraper. There is a stated limit of 1,000 scrapes per day, or contact SBB support if you require more. I’m sure they did this to work around the constant chase of keeping scrapes working. Again in this section you can redirect the URL and add URL attributes.

SBB has a “post files” section that allows you to pre-write posts, and save them for later posting. I have not tried this feature, so I can’t really comment on it. The materials say that you can mix and match these posts with other types of posts.

Installation requires one MySQL database to store the configurations. The basic installation is easy enough for anybody somewhat familiar with building sites. It involves setting up the one database, ftp’ing files to your web server, and changing permissions on a couple directories. You should be making your first post within an hour of getting the product. Once I saw what SEO Blog Builder could do, I ended up taking a day off my day job to play with it more! The advanced features will require a little more practice to really get working right. You will also want to spend some time writing articles or snippets for it.

The instructions are complete and relatively easy for a fairly experienced web builder to understand. The basic features are simple and will get you started quickly. I thought they could have given a few more tips about best practices, or suggestions about how to do your setups. There is a private forum where I suspect a lot of this information will be shared.

I realize I probably sound like a salesman for the SEO Blog Builder company! I guess I am in a way, since I quickly got an affiliate link after I tested this. However, of the 30 or so web building tools I have bought, tested, and used in the last year, I have only requested to be affiliated with less than a half dozen. I am more excited about the potential productivity gains from this tool than any other I have used in a long time. The sellers are offering a 30 day full satisfaction money-back guarantee.

If you found this review helpful, it is work a trial, here!

Take care,

David

P.S. - Many have asked to see what kind of posts SEO BLog Builder posts. So I built a little sample blog to show you.

I’m anxious to hear your comments!
