Speed Up Your PC By Using A Free Registry Checker

I’ve got some suggestions for free registry testing and cleaning. I’m so tired of Windows PC’s getting slow after a while. I’ve been buying computers for home and business use since my first Apple II way back when. But it seems like a modern-era thing where they get so slow after a while. Maybe it has to do with my constantly buying new software to test and use.

To keep your PC safe and fast, you should obviously use a good virus checking program, and a good Spyware-Adware checker. I’ve got four computers at home, and use various checkers. I’m using Norton 360 on my current Vista machine, that I do most IM work on. For Spyware and Adware checking and removal, I use two free tools, Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy. Beware of using any old Spyware scanner, because a lot of Spyware and viruses are disguised as Spyware checkers. So you think you are protecting your PC, when in fact you are corrupting it!

Also, defragging your hard drive and doing disk clenaups periodically is recommended. I usually try to remember to do these monthly or so. I also periodically uninstall any programs I am no longer using.

All of these steps can only do so much to speed up your PC. I have found that the Windows registry gets filled up with unused junk after a while. I now perform regular registry tests to get rid of this junk. If you don’t optimize your Windows registry, your PC runs slower, and you will see things happeneing like your hard drive spinning too much, too much memory being used, and programs taking too long to load.
